Big Honda giveaway

Honda Power Equipment recently presented South Australian small business operator Peter Melizza with an advanced four-stroke Garden Care Package worth almost $3,000. The prize, which included a HHH25D Hedge Cutter, UMS425 Bentshaft Brush Cutter and HHB25 Blower, was awarded to Melizza after he won the competition to celebrate the sale of Honda's 500,000th lawnmower – which Melizza purchased. He also received a refund for his HRU196 Buffalo Classic lawnmower, the milestone mower that was purchased from Seaton Mower Service in Alberton, South Australia. "I had never won anything in my life before this. I was very lucky – it was a case of being in the right place at the right time," he says. Melizza’s family business, Peter’s Bobcats and Excavation Contractors, has been operating in rural and metropolitan South Australia for twenty years, and with the help of some Honda equipment, business is booming. "My son-in-law began using a Honda lawnmower two years ago," he says. "It is a very good quality mower that has never caused us any problems; we still use it.” Dominic Graziani of Seaton Mower Service sold Melizza the lucky lawnmower, and is delighted that he had won. "It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person," he says. "Through his business, Peter recently helped me on a personal level. My friend was very ill and Peter generously put in many hours helping us with a 'backyard blitz' to make some improvements to my friend's garden." The world’s largest engine manufacturer, Honda produced its 500,000th lawnmower at the Honda Manufacturing Australia plant in Melbourne in late 2009.
