All pumped up/font>Davey Pumps has launched its new ISOspec™ range of large end suction centrifugal pumps suited to a wide range of pumping applications including rural irrigation, building services, municipal or industrial water supply, leisure systems and numerous general water, liquids transfer or circulation duties. The new Davey ISOspec™ pump range is designed to suit the widest possible range of liquid transfer or pumping operations, and provides full compliance with International Standards including ISO 2858 and ISO 5199. The range can accommodate flows up to 900 cubic metres per hour and heads to a maximum of 160 metres.
Importantly, the new ISOspec™ pump range is available in two configurations. The ISOspec™ CF series (centrifugal flow) comprises bare shaft pumps which can be coupled to an electric or diesel drive. The ISOspec™ CM series (centrifugal motor pump) features close coupled electric motor pump units, in a ready to bolt down combination.
In creating the features of the new ISOspec™ range, Davey has placed great reliance on input from its dealer network, pump engineers and system designers to build a robustly designed, compact pump as a space saving alternative and available at a competitive price.
Key features include a back pull out design which allows removal of the rotating element without disturbing the pipework or removal of lagging or the pump volute casing. This ensures minimal downtime for routine maintenance and avoids the need for coupling realignment.
The Davey ISOspec™ motor pump also requires minimal spare parts. The design includes a standard high-quality mechanical seal, replaceable wear rings and case O-ring seals for a trouble free lifecycle.
Announcing the release of the new ISOspec™ pumps at Davey’s Australian headquarters at Scoresby (VIC) managing director, David Cleland, said: “The large end centrifugal pump sector is the workhorse of the Australian pumping industry, and following our own market research it is evident that there has been little change in product choice and pump designs in this sector for many years.
“Full compliance with ISO standards also makes our ISOspec™ the ideal pump choice for the replacement market.”

Self-priming irrigator/font>A heavy-duty, 3" motor pump — designed for a wide range of agricultural applications — has been released by Australian Pump Industries. Featuring a 75-metre maximum head and pressures in excess of 100psi, the pump is claimed to be ideal for irrigation in both horticultural and small farm applications. Powered by a 25hp, 3-phase, heavy-duty TEFC electric motor, the new pump offers big flows at high pressure. Like all Aussie GMP cast iron motor pumps, it is self-priming with vertical lift capabilities of up to 6.6m.
Called the B3ZPM-A, the big 3" pump delivers flows of up to 1000 litres per minute at heads of 60 metres or more. Manufactured from close grained cast iron, it features a unique high-pressure, open style impeller that handles small solids in suspension while delivering high pressure to sprinklers or drip irrigation systems.
The pump has a high mounted inlet port with check valve, enabling it to prime quickly without the operator having to fill the suction line with water. This advantage means the pump can virtually prime itself provided there is water in the pump chamber, making it particularly suitable for operation with electric timers for “stop / start” automatic irrigation. Aussie Pumps product manager, Mike Rowley, says, “This new self-priming pump delivers a lot of water at high pressure. These big flows make it suitable for either running multi-sprinkler irrigation systems or handling big wash-down jobs.”
